When I started TJC four years ago I had no idea what the coming years would bring. I’ve had some awesome life experiences within my blogger life. But, 2015 brought more self-awareness than I would’ve ever imagined. The process started in 2014 with the close of a business and other projects being placed on hold due to life’s circumstances. If you’ve ever started a business or attempted to build something from the ground up you know life will throw all types of curves in your plans. If you haven’t experienced any curves on your journey, God has favored you highly. However, my story has included many unplanned circumstances which led me to realize life is far more than what we wear and what we do to earn a living.
At the beginning of 2015 I promised myself I would travel and enjoy life more. I wouldn’t be the business woman who woke up one day wondering why I never stopped to enjoy my life. When I made that declaration I was completely broke. I had no idea how I would travel, but I had a few ideas how I would enjoy life more. I dare not bore you with my previous plans. However, I would love to share some of the great happenings of 2015.
Last year I was blessed to visit Florida, Mexico, New York, California, Puerto Rico and Georgia. Some of these places I visited multiple times, and I can’t help but smile when I think of how utterly amazing that really is. I watched the sunrise in Cabo, met up with Chrisette Michele and some of her wonderful friends at BeautyCon in NYC, fell in love (with him again) on a 16 hour trip to Puerto Rico, frolicked multiple times on the beaches of California and much more. I never imagined how exhilarating spending less than twenty-four hours in a beautiful place could truly be. I’ve taken several “day-cations” and I’m always asked the same questions, 1). Are you crazy? 2). What could you possibly do in less than 24 hours? 3). Is it really worth it? You would be surprised at how many four and five-star hotels you can enjoy at a fraction of the advertised cost. So, this year I will be sharing more and enlightening all of you guys on how I travel fancy and frugal.
Many of you follow my social network accounts (i.e Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), and you’ve seen multiple pictures and videos of this gorgeous-talented man. I’ve read your DM’s and all of your inbox messages. To clear the air…. I fell in love last year with an incredible person who happens to be my best friend. When I met Darius it wasn’t clear to either of us what this would be. But, we’re both really happy with what it has become. We have tons of fun together and we share a lot of life experiences. We value our privacy and although I share A LOT of photos, it’s difficult to share more. I know you guys understand that! But I hope you’ll support his music and attend a few shows. He’s INCREDIBLE. In summation, 2015 was possibly one of the greatest years I’ve experienced in life. Not because of any one thing, but because collectively God smiled on my life and I got a chance to embrace His love. That’s what I consider favor. I met some new friends and reconnected with some old friends. We fall and we may even fail, but because of God’s love and His promises we can never-EVER give up. Life gets better if you keep living.
